I’m Shea, and I’m a stop motion and 2D animator based in Los Angeles, CA. I’ve always dreamed of being an animator, and have been on cloud 9 since my career began in 2020.

I graduated from The Ohio State University with a BFA in Art and Technology. I created a wide variety of work there, mostly involving experimental animation. To learn character animation, I took 3D and 2D classes through Animation Mentor where learned from animators at Pixar, Aardman, and Disney. I applied what I’d learned toward stop motion, the medium that’s always had a hold on my heart, and after much trial and error, my career took off.

I take pride in producing quality, entertaining, nuanced animation, while always doing what I can to improve and make people laugh. Along with animating, I’ve also directed and produced freelance and personal work, fabricated in the art and puppet departments for stop motion, machined and assembled rigging materials and ball and socket armatures for stop motion, and have puppeteered for toy play ads and a short film. I’ve animated in 2D for an ad and a commercial pitch, and have done concept art, character designs, storyboarding, commissions, and have and am working on various personal projects.

I’m also a synchronized swimmer! I spent 14 years competing on national and international levels, helping my team earn three national championships in college. I now work with the glamorous troupe Aqualillies, with whom I’ve performed in live shows, modeled in the water, and swam for music videos.
